Staff and students at Lincoln Castle Academy School celebrated a world book day devoted to literature with fancy dress. Harry Potter, Frodo Baggins and Sam Gamgee, Where’s Wally and Alice in Wonderland were all attending school to take part in World Book Day.
In addition to dressing up as their favourite world book day character, students in Years 7, 8 and 9 were inspired by local author Georgia Twynham and learnt about how she started writing novels for teens. Students also swapped books in a grand swapping session, took part in a lonely hearts book activity, made bookmarks, heard more stories and collected £1 book tokens. Staff got dressed up, with the maths department morphing into superheroes while the English department were characters from Shakespeare or John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men.
